A clear overview of the data AREN8 uses, why it is needed and the choices available to you.
Usage analytics
With analytics consent, we also measure steps in registration, tournament entry, game launch, first input, result display and repeat attempts. Account and game-session identifiers let us connect these steps. This measurement does not record form contents or individual keystrokes. Events are retained for up to 180 days; you can withdraw consent in cookie settings.
Did you know?
To avoid repeating feature tips, we store the identifiers and display times of tips seen by your account, plus your on/off preference. For guests, the same information is kept in the existing browser session. This is not browsing history or advertising tracking. You can turn tips off on the tips page.
These keep sign-in, security, language selection, game sessions and your privacy choice working. They cannot be disabled because the service would not function correctly without them.
aren8_ui — secure sign-in and game session.
aren8_locale — selected interface language.
aren8_consent — record of your cookie choice.

Google advertising
AREN8 uses Google AdSense to serve and measure advertising. With consent, Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and usage data to personalise and measure ads.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising choices are managed by a Google-certified consent platform. You can change your choice later through its privacy message.
From 10 September 2026, we count public HTML pages served by the server even when analytics cookies are declined or no choice has been made. We retain only the day, page category, approximate country and aggregate counts grouped by the consent choice in effect when the request arrives. This counter does not store IP addresses, raw browser data, URL parameters, or account, visitor or device identifiers. It sets no tracking cookies, creates no browsing history and does not link page views to a player. It is separate from consent-based usage analytics. To monitor service reliability, we also collect aggregate HTTP response statistics: day, request category, method, response status, a test-request flag, request count and aggregate duration measurements. These counters do not retain IP addresses, user or device identifiers, form data or URL parameters. Aggregate records are retained for up to 180 days.
Approximate connection country
From 10 September 2026, we estimate the connection country from its IP address using a country database stored on our server. We do not send the IP address to an external service for this lookup or store it in country statistics. For page responses without analytics consent, only country-level aggregate counts are retained; visits are not linked to each other or to a player. For a game session, we store the country code at the start to compare playing activity by country. In consent-based page analytics, the country is added only to views recorded with consent. The game-session country association is retained for up to 180 days; associations for deleted sessions are removed by daily maintenance. Your profile country is not changed. The country may be unknown or reflect a VPN, mobile network or privacy service. We do not determine a precise location.
